Quality System
OUR QUALITY POLICY
" ...
'right-the-first-time' design services and 'defect-free' hardware and software,
delivered on-time every time."
OBJECTIVES
Quality at all levels
-- Maintain a constant focus on quality and continuous improvement in our
quality system through dedication, commitment, and teamwork at all levels.
Outstanding Working
Environment -- Create an environment that challenges, motivates, and allows
for the pride of workmanship in our products and services, and opportunities for
learning.
Plan and Execute --
Control critical processes to minimize wasted time and materials,
fire-fighting, and crisis management, and to ensure that all employees involved
understand how to perform the processes and why the processes are necessary.
Evaluate and Improve
-- Produce objective evidence that our methods and activities are being
controlled and that these controls are producing cost-effective, near error-free
engineering design of products, rapid transition to production, and competitive
prices and delivery schedules to benefit our customers.
ISO-9001 is the basis
for North Star's Quality System
North Star was formed in
November 1997. We immediately identified the need for a quality system and
had an operating quality system based on ISO-9001 in place before the end of
1998. The system covers all aspects of our business, management,
engineering, and production. North Star is committed to:
Apply sound engineering and
manufacturing practices that are appropriate for the needs of the customer, and
to hire, train, and retain employees who excel.
Aggressively seek understanding
of our customer’s application, requirements, specifications, desires, and goals.
Clearly communicate these to all employees involved.
Documentation
Our Quality System
Manual, together with our process documents, work instructions, and procedures
collectively define our Quality System that is designed to comply with
ANSI/ISO/ASQC Q9001- Version 1994, and MIL-I-45208 – Version A (prior to
cancellation in 1996). Our manual identifies all the methods used to
implement the system.
