Video Circuits
| North Star specializes
in the design of video digitizers, video distribution, video over
fiber, control of video recorders for editing purposes, real-time video
graphics overlay, and video trackers. |

RS-170
and NTSC Video Front Ends
We have
circuit designs to phase-lock to analog RS-170 and NTSC video signals, digitize
the video data, and write the data to a processor's memory using Direct Memory
Access (DMA).

Video
Multiplexing and Distribution
Our
video
multiplexing circuits include an 16-input, 16-output 200MHz BW crossbar switch.
The crossbar switch can be combined with fiber optic transceivers for video and
serial data distribution to over 10,000 ft. distance between stations.

Graphics
Whether you call it graphics, overlay, marks, or annotation, our embedded
control algorithms may be just what you are looking for. Alpha-numeric
characters, bit-mapped, special graphics, reticles, crosshairs, etc. We
have design experience marking video in real-time, for dynamic graphics effects,
marking moving objects and displaying dynamic numerical information at video
refresh rates.

Control of Video Recorders
North
Star has developed unique controls for standard VHS and DV video
recorder/players. By modifying the electronics inside the decks, we can
control the mechanisms for video editing, reading time code information, and
starting and stopping the deck precisely on a time code for editing and replay
purposes. We have developed both wired and wireless (900 MHz) versions of
handcontrollers to go with these decks. |
